Transfer News: Leeds Target San Lorenzo's Goalkeeper Orlando Gill
Leeds have reportedly made an offer to sign San Lorenzo's Orlando Gill in the summer transfer window. The Yorkshire club is looking to bolster their squad after a successful 25/26 season, where Daniel Farke's side managed to avoid relegation from the Premier League.
Leeds have already invested heavily in the market with notable signings such as Tarek Muharemovic and Harry Wilson. Most recently, they brought in James Trafford from Manchester City, a goalkeeper who will likely serve as their backup option between the posts.
Gill's Potential Arrival
According to journalist Carlin Correa, Leeds have submitted a formal offer for Orlando Gill. The move is seen primarily as a backup option, given that Farke’s side already has Trafford in place. However, this signing could allow Leeds to offload Lucas Perri, who currently serves as the number one goalkeeper.
Leeds chairman Paraag Marathe recently spoke about their plans for the upcoming season and transfer window, emphasizing the need for players with a higher level of ability:
"This coming season and window is about improving the squad even more, so it requires an extra level to be able to come into the squad and earn minutes right away. So we will be pursuing players that have that extra level to them and that's our plan."
