Rubén Darío Insúa is considering two changes to the San Lorenzo de Almagro starting lineup for Saturday's match against Defensa y Justicia. The manager is analysing the possibility of starting Franco Lorenzon and Matías Reali in Florencio Varela.
Rubén Darío Insúa said: "Rubén Darío Insúa evaluaría hacer dos cambios para visitar al Halcón respecto al equipo que perdió ante Boca." The team lost 0-2 to Boca Juniors on September 20, a result that left El Ciclón tenth in the Liga Profesional with 11 points. Their next opponent, Defensa y Justicia, sits third, adding significance to the fixture. San Lorenzo arrives on a run of three matches without a win, while Defensa y Justicia has won three of its last five outings.
In defence, the 25-year-old Lorenzon could take the place of Emiliano Amor. The centre-back has not played since July 28. In midfield, the 28-year-old Reali is a candidate to replace Ezequiel Herrera. The former Independiente Rivadavia player came on in the second half against Boca. If Reali plays, he could join an attacking trio with Alexis Cuello and Rodrigo Auzmendi, pushing Nicolás Tripichio to the right flank. Also, Martín Insaurralde is suspended, so Mauricio Cardillo would be his natural replacement in the double pivot.
Guzmán Corujo, the 30-year-old Uruguayan defender, did not train with the main group on Wednesday but could still be considered. The team resumed training on Tuesday at the Ciudad Deportiva, split into groups based on minutes played in the last match. This differentiated training system aims to manage physical fatigue, particularly for players who exceeded 60 minutes of action against Boca Juniors.
The trip to Defensa y Justicia is a significant challenge. The last meeting between the two, on March 16, ended in a 2-5 defeat. For Saturday, ticket sales for visiting supporters are already enabled on the host club's platform. San Lorenzo fans will enter via Gate 2 on Humahuaca Street, presenting their ID. The match, for the 11th round of the Torneo Clausura, kicks off at 14:45 local time.
