San Lorenzo de Almagro returned to training on Tuesday with their focus squarely on the upcoming Liga Profesional Argentina match against Estudiantes de La Plata. Ruben Insua's squad worked at their training ground following Sunday's 1-0 victory over Deportivo Riestra.

The session began with video analysis of the next opponent. Players were then split into groups based on their minutes played in the last match. Those with higher workloads performed regenerative exercises on stationary bikes in the gym. They later completed upper body, mobility, and flexibility work on the pitch.

The rest of the squad started with activation and mobility drills. They then moved through four stations involving accelerations, transfer rondos, and football-specific tasks. The team is fine-tuning details for Sunday's 18:00 kick-off, a key clash between the 10th and 9th placed sides in the standings.

Guzmán Corujo, with a left femoral biceps strain, and Ignacio Perruzzi, managing patellar tendinopathy in both knees, carried out specific recovery work away from the main group. The club's medical report did not provide a timeline for their return.

Sunday's win, sealed by Teo Rodríguez Pagano's 67th-minute goal, earned San Lorenzo three key points and improved their recent form, as they have now taken 7 points from the last 12 available. The team now sits 10th with 14 points from 12 games. A victory against Estudiantes would be a significant step towards climbing the table.

Alongside the on-field preparation, the club secured the contract renewal of a 22-year-old midfielder. The player signed a new deal keeping him at the club until December 31, 2028, a move that bets on youth and future planning. The full squad list and player details are available in our squad section.

Ruben Insua oversaw the final practice before the trip to La Plata. The manager will have the final say on the matchday squad for the weekend. San Lorenzo will aim to repeat the result of their last meeting with El Pincha, a 1-0 win back on April 3.
